Peanut butter & Jelly sandwiches...
By jackalicious on Sep 1, 2009 | In J.T.'s Life
Every night at exactly 9pm, I eat a crunchy peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwich with a glass of milk. I'm not sure how it all started, but to me it's like an after supper snack before bedtime. And unlike other things, I never grow tired of the treat that has given sustenance to children's lunchboxes for decades. Very few people in America don't like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It's as American as apple pie or hamburgers really. For me anytime is peanut butter and jelly time (click for dancing banana) but 9pm is my special time...
Now, my dog Sydney is highly intelligent and being a shepherd dog she is good at watching everything you do. She knows when its time for her walk, get up to go out in the mornings before work, etc. She has this little internal clock that tells her that 'it's time' for something whatever it may be. I've been wanting to video tape her just before 9pm for the fact that she'll come to me and 'remind' me that I need my peanut butter and jelly. She averages a +/- 15 minutes but sometimes she's right on the dot. It never ceases to amaze me how smart she is... quite literally, she'll get up from wherever she is, run to me and paw where I'm sitting. When you ask her "Hey Sydney, is it sandwiches time?", she'll go crazy and do her little doggie dance.
Someone out there in Internet land has taken the time to perfect their version of the perfect P&J. I haven't tried it yet, but when I do I'll give an update on the taste. Click here to see the perfected P&J.
