1969 Beetle?

These are supposed images from a Japanese 1969 Type 1 Sedan brochure. However, the car looks more like a 1966 1300 model - to me anyway. If this really is an advertisement for a 69, this this means the export for Japan was offered in at least one color not available to the US market and it kept the more sportier bumper of sedans previous.
It would only be logical that the car was exported from Melbourne Australia where a VW plant had been in operation for about a decade or so. In the late 50s the plant was more of a 'put it together' type of place where they just assembled the cars rather than produce them. Full blown creation of Type 1 parts at the plant started in 1962 and lasted for only six years.
In 1969 the plant went back to assembly only and they sold off their production molds and such to Brazil where the Beetle was made for a number of years. VW production ended in Australia in 1976 with less than 1/4 million produced.
