It's cold...

It's going to be horrifically cold the next few days for this part of the country. We're supposed to be a sub-tropical climate but I guess mother nature never wants to follow the rules. What's unusual though is that this past summer was exceptionally cool as well and broke many records. Back around mid July we had night time temperatures in the fifties and the day time temps didn't even peak into the mid eighties. However, many forecasters said that it meant for a cold winter. After hearing it, I just shook off the absurd notion asking myself how in the world they could possibly know this. There couldn't be any science to making such a long term prediction on the weather unless forecasters were basing it on historical record. Just because it's cool in July, it can't possibly mean it's going to be cold in January, could it? - Boy, I was wrong.

Tonight we're going to break cold records and possibly dip into the single digits. What's rough is that our central heat went out and we're using electric heaters to keep the house warm. We are supplementing the heat with the gas stove (cooking stove) and we seem to be doing okay.

I know it might seem irrational to start crying about the global warming 'facts' for someone will just rebuke me and say they're only talking about one or two degrees on average worldwide. Okay, I'll buy that theory, but someone please help me out on this because I'm having a hard time with it... They (News media, Al Gore etc.) keep showing us videos of ice caps and glaciers melting away and mountain tops void of snow. Okay, ice freezes at 0 degrees Celsius or 32 Fahrenheit and boils depending on the altitude or normally 100C or 212F at sea level. So are they telling me that for ions of time the ice caps were just hovering below freezing? This can't be right! You can't get around the fact - ice melts at a specific temp. If it was 30 degrees below zero and it went up one degree it's still well below freezing and it's not going to melt by any means. And lastly, C02 is a very heavy gas, I know this because not only have I studied gases in chemistry and physics, but I used to fill C02 tanks every day. So, why is their so much C02 in the upper atmosphere and particularly at 12-14 thousand feet elevation making the snow melt? And are they telling me that it's above 32 degrees at 14 thousand feet in the winter? It's doomsday! ;)

I'm all for cleaning up the environment and I always have been. I wholeheartedly agree that even if they are wrong, having a cleaner place to live is great anyway. I'd love to see dependance on petroleum out the door and replaced with something cleaner. Nevertheless, the news that the statistics were doctored by the climatologists quickly died out in the news. What happened to that story anyway? I want to know more about this. A quick search for the old link on the AP died but was grabbed by the free republic here. (I do not necessarily subscribe to the views of any site I link to. I just post them for reference.)

Hope everyone stays warm for the winter.

Short sale in San DiegoThats some quality fundamentals there, already know some of that, but you can always learn more. I doubt a “kid” could put together such information as dolphin278 suggested. Maybe he’s just attempting to be “controversial? lol

Johnny CoolYour site is just ridiculously cool! As the Boss at my office, I work with people who couldn't write like this if they tried, and getting them to try is hard enough as it is.
